Operator and scope
These terms govern the font catalogue, downloads, author profiles, submissions, suggestions, messages and forum. The public version must identify the legal operator and electronic contact point.
Font Trust is a directory and technical verification service. It is not a font marketplace, payment processor, law firm or party to an external support transaction.
Font licences
Each font page provides a plain-language summary. The complete licence supplied with the font remains the legal rule. Users must verify their intended installation, embedding, modification and distribution.
Submissions and suggestions
A submitter must own the font or represent the rights holder. A suggestion supplies only the official source and grants no new rights. The service extracts names, author, version, copyright, websites and licence data from the file; only a readable font name is mandatory.
- At least 10 distinct glyphs are required.
- Uploads remain in private quarantine until checks pass.
- An account declaration supports provenance but is not conclusive proof of ownership.
- Ambiguous rights, unsafe files and unsupported custom terms stop publication.
Glyph content and people
Hate symbols, racism, xenophobia, unlawful discrimination, threats, violence, targeted harassment, impersonation and illegal content are prohibited. A non-targeted obscene hand gesture may be reviewed in context.
A recognisable third party is not accepted. An author may depict only themself after an express declaration; that font and author page is not monetised.
Direct author support
Support links open an external provider supplied by the author. Money moves directly between the visitor, provider and author. Font Trust does not collect, split, refund or account for it.
Forum and private messages
Participation must concern fonts, licences, files, glyphs, installation or the website. Hate, racism, xenophobia, threats, harassment, scams, malware, spam and illegal content are prohibited. Messages are text-only, limited to 1,000 characters and normally remain available for up to 180 days.
Moderation and AI
Automated systems may screen files, glyphs, messages, questions and reports. A risk signal may hold content for a stronger second review. Ambiguous legal or cultural meaning is not decided by automation alone.
Reports and corrections
Anyone may report incorrect rights, an unsafe file, identity problem, abusive message or technical fault. Technical claims are verified and any confirmed website change is reported to the owner before implementation.
Availability and liability
Technical checks reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every file, licence summary or external link is error-free. The service may suspend or remove material to protect visitors, rights holders and the platform.
Applicable rules
Portuguese law and directly applicable European Union rules govern the service without removing mandatory protection available in another competent jurisdiction.
