How to choose a convincing free graffiti font
Evaluate rhythm, overlap, alternates, legibility and licensing when selecting a graffiti-style font.
Look beyond rough outlines. Convincing graffiti typography needs varied rhythm, credible joins or overlaps, useful alternates and enough control to remain readable in the intended application.
Movement matters
Street lettering rarely behaves like identical stamps placed on a line. Variation in width, angle, spacing and overlap creates energy. Contextual alternates can reduce obvious repetition when the font is engineered for them.
Complexity has a performance cost
A font with many contextual forms, colour layers or complex outlines may be much heavier than a normal display font. Catalogue cards should use a safe preview while the dedicated font page progressively loads the complete specimen.

Licence and subject matter
